[Post-MDCOPS] Lt. Michael P. Howe

It is with great sadness that I have received information
regarding the death of Lt. Michael P. Howe of the Tactical
Unit, from Baltimore County. Yesterday, Aug. 10, 2008 Lt.
Howe responded with the HNT/SWAT team to a barricade
situation in Woodlawn. The incident was later verified by
members of the SWAT team to be a murder/suicide. After
clearing the scene, Lt.Howe returned home. After going to
bed, his wife was awakened by Mike around midnight
thrashing about. His wife called 911, he was taken by
ambulance to Carroll Hospital, and then to Johns Hopkins
Hospital. A little after 1:00 today( Aug. 11,) he passed
away. It is reported that he suffered a stroke. Lt. Howe
was 54 years old. He is survived by his wife Debbie and a
step-son Jason Simons. Jason is a Baltimore County Police
Officer.
