Please see the below email from Larry Sibley. Please feel free to send John Armiger well wishes to help lift his spirits and keep John and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Some of you may recognize the name, John Armiger, but many may not know his face. John is the former owner and President of Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens in Timonium, MD, where his father created a Fallen Heroes section many years ago which John has continued for the perpetual resting place for fallen police officers, firefighters and other public safety officers who have died in-the-line-of-duty in Maryland.
John recently sold DVMG due to medical reasons but is maintaining his coordination of the yearly Maryland Fallen Heroes Day Memorial Service which takes place at DVMG on the first Friday of May. This years service will be held on May 2nd, beginning at 1:00pm. Mr. Third Base, former Baltimore Orioles, MLB Hall of Famer, Brooks Robinson will be the keynote speaker.
John is a true friend of MD law enforcement and public safety. John is currently at Kernan Rehab. Hospital undergoing physical therapy after recent spine surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital and expects to remain at Kernan for another three weeks before hopefully returning home.
I spoke with John on Wednesday evening, 3/12, and asked him what he needed. He said all he needed was for this years Fallen Heroes service to be successful and asked for the help of the F.O.P. in getting the word out to Maryland law enforcement. I told John the F.O.P. would do whatever it could to accomplish his wishes.
However, if he could also receive Get Well cards, well wishes and phone calls, that will help boost his spirits:
John Armiger, Jr.
Kernan Rehab. Hospital
Room 711-Bed 2
2200 Kernan Drive
Baltimore, MD 21207
(443) 834-8211 Cellphone (works in the hospital)
John has taken care of our fallen brothers and sisters. Now is the time to return a little of that compassion to John.
I have asked Bro. Kratsch to resend this e-mail through his Maryland State Lodge e-mail distribution list. If you receive more than one notice of this e-mail, I apologize, but it is for a worthwhile cause.
And please remember John and keep him in your prayers.
Thank you,
Larry Sibley
Lodge4 Office Manager
(A friend of Johns!)
